Friends of The Smith Lecture: Angels, Alan Smith and Me

We know that art can inspire writers; sometimes it’s the catalyst for an entire literary project. Here, prize-winning author Douglas Bruton reveals how his latest novel, With or Without Angels, emerged as an imaginative response to the work and personality of late Scottish artist Alan Smith. As well as telling a compelling story, the writer sets out to introduce new audiences to an artist who had something meaningful to say.
All lectures take place at the Smith, at Albert Place, Stirling, on Wednesdays at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm)
Admission is by cash at the door and includes tea or coffee and biscuits afterwards
£5 Adults
£4 Members of the Friends
