“Metal Detecting and Archaeology” – A talk by local detectorist, Peter Hudson

Stirling Field and Archaeological Society.

It is more than fifty years since metal detectors became available to the public and the hobby of metal detecting began to develop. Metal detecting finds have identified new sites and opened up new avenues of investigation , nowadays  detectorists are often to be found  taking part in all sorts of archaeological excavations, and not just on television.  All are welcome to come along and hear local detectorist, Peter Hudson, describe how detectorists in general pursue their hobby and what they contribute to Archaeology.
